Dr. Julie Demetree is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency Training Program for the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson Department of Psychiatry, Banner - UMC Main. Dr. Demetree grew up in Florida where she attended the University of Florida and received a BS in psychology and earned her MD in 2006. She completed psychiatry residency training at the University of Florida in 2010. She went on to work as a consult/liaison psychiatrist at the University of Florida prior to taking the position as the Director of the Consult/Liaison Psychiatry Service at the University of Arizona in 2013. She has been the recipient of multiple medical student and resident teaching awards while on faculty at both universities. Her professional interests include perinatal psychiatry, graduate and post graduate education, and emergency and psychosomatic psychiatry.
