Matthew Moffitt, PhD

Clinical Assistant Professor

Dr. Moffitt is a licensed clinical psychologist who received his doctoral degree in clinical and disaster psychology from the University of South Dakota. Traumatic stress and forensic psychology were his main research and training foci. For two years he conducted violence risk assessments on aggressively psychopathic inmates at the South Dakota State Penitentiary before he made his way to the Early Psychosis Intervention Center. 

At EPICenter, Dr. Moffitt specializes in psychotherapeutic approaches to treating psychosis. Dr. Moffitt provides individual and group therapy to members of the program, intake evaluations for new members, and training and supervision to psychology interns on rotation at the EPICenter.

In his free time, Dr. Moffitt enjoys writing. His debut science fiction novel, From Moon to Joshua, was published last year. He hopes to continue writing in the future.
