Learning Objectives

  • Introduce and discuss the prevalence of PTSD/SUD and factors that may be relevant to this comorbidity.
  • Introduce the key concepts of an integrated PTSD/SUD treatment model, the Concurrent Treatment of PTSD and Substance Use Disorders using Prolonged Exposure (COPE).
  • Identify benefits of utilizing integrated PTSD/SUD treatment across various factors (system-level, provider, and patient).
