Legal Issues in Substance Use Disorders

  • Identify the privacy prohibitions of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Recognize when 42 CFR Part 2 applies to patient information.
  • Analyze potential violations of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 on social media.
  • Maintain a social media presence in compliance with privacy laws.

The educational objective for the Addiction Medicine Grand Rounds is to provide health professionals with updates on addiction topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. The Addiction Medicine Grand Rounds is held monthly on a Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m. Be sure to log into your CME account and complete the evaluation to receive credit.
