Learning Objectives
- Describe the structure of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and its application in the treatment of addictive behaviors.
- Identify various sets of DBT skills that can be used to target addiction clinical domains such as emotion dysfunction and negative emotionality.
- Prioritize specific DBT skills based on a personalized assessment of clinical characteristics presented by individual patients.
- Appreciate the ways through which DBT skills training can be adapted across clinical settings to improve patient care.
