Learning Objectives:
- Distinguish the terms administer, dispense, and prescribe as they relate to methadone regulation for the treatment of opioid use disorder.
- Describe three (3) unique features of methadone pharmacology
- List three (3) potential causes of mortality during methadone initiation
- Specify two (2) methadone dosing strategies shown to increase treatment retention
- Explain two (2) approaches to selecting methadone dose after treatment interruption.
The educational objective for the Addiction Medicine Grand Rounds is to provide health professionals with updates on addiction topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. The Addiction Medicine Lecture series is held monthly on a Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m.
