The Death Penalty: History & Psychiatry’s Involvement

Learning Objectives:
- Increase understanding of the history of the death penalty.
- Understand racial bias in the administration of the death penalty.
- Increase understanding of psychiatry’s role in the death penalty process.
The educational objective of Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m.
