Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand incidence, risk factors, sequelae of hospital delirium
  2. Understand how precipitating factors and mechanistic theories interact to produce the clinical syndrome
  3. Learn how prevention and intervention strategies can interrupt the chain of failure
  4. Understand how interprofessional teams can change hospital practice to mitigate delirium risk
  5. Learn how a pharmacologic protocol can change prescribing practices

The educational objective for Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m. Be sure to log into your CME account and complete the evaluation to receive credit.
