The Evolution of an Addiction Medicine Consult Service

Learning Objectives:

  1. To identify the demographics of substance use disorders in the hospitalized and unhospitalized patient
  2. To better understand the economic, societal, and patient level impacts of not treating SUD in the hospitalized patient
  3. To become more comfortable treating SUD in the hospitalized patient 

The educational objective for Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m. Be sure to log into your CME account and complete the evaluation to receive credit.
