Insomnia Disorder: Etiology, Pathophysiology, and Treatment

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the diagnosis of insomnia disorder in patients, including diagnostic criteria and differential diagnosis.
  2. Understand how insomnia disorder arises and develops.
  3. Understand how insomnia disorder is commonly treated, specifically using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia

The educational objective for Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m. Be sure to log into your CME account and complete the evaluation to receive credit.
