At the end of this Grand Rounds lecture, attendees will be able to:
- Appreciate the scope of the problem of suicide in older adults.
- Describe the factors that place older people at increased risk for suicide.
- Understand the available evidence for effective approaches to its prevention.
The educational objective for Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care.
