Learning Objectives:

  1. What is telepsychiatry and how did it become an important method of health care delivery during and after the recent pandemic
  2. Evidence behind current practices of telepsychiatry and the pros and cons in terms of patient outcomes, physician satisfaction, and overall healthcare efficiency/cost. A discussion of other care modalities that are considered virtual or “tele” including AI driven management, systems integration of technology data, and how tech companies play an integral role in the mental health and wellbeing of future generation
  3. Differences in approach of virtual care between the current medical community versus big tech companies. What will this mean for the future of telepsychiatry? A discussion on these implications

  1. Understand the value of structure, support, persistence and a plan in the set up for success
  2. Connect biopsychosocial aspects of psychiatric care to sports and success
  3. Discuss mindset and the significant role it plays in outcomes

The educational objective for Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m.
