Learning Objectives:
- Learn about the concept of perioperative mental health and how it affects surgical outcomes.
- Understand new findings in treating depression and anxiety in the perioperative period.
- Understand how patient-level variability predicts mental health outcomes in the perioperative period.
The educational objective of Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. Psychiatry Grand Rounds are typically held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m., but this one is being held from 7 to 8 a.m. at DuVal Auditorium.
