"A Translational Approach to Develop a Novel, Biologically-Based, Diagnostic Test for Psychosis"

Learning objectives:         
1. Describe the steps in the “Translational Research” cycle, between basic science research and development of novel treatments or diagnostic tests for clinical illnesses.

2. Identify a specific brain neurotransmitter receptor that may play a role in the sedating effects of antipsychotic medications

3. Recognize how levels of this receptor are altered in the brains of patients with schizophrenia
