Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize patients with common and costly perinatal mood disorders, as well as who is at highest risk. 
  • Identify appropriate public health model screening tools to diagnose PMADs and other perinatal mood disorders. 
  • Initiate treatment for perinatal mood disorders and other pregnancy related conditions using safe medication options for pregnancy and lactation.

The educational objective for the APAL Grand Rounds Series is to improve medical providers’ knowledge and skills in diagnosing, treating, and supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The APAL Grand Rounds Series is held monthly on a Friday from 12 to 1pm.
