Medical Complications of Methamphetamine Use: Strategies for Prevention, Harm Reduction, and Treatment

Learning Objectives:
- Identify two life-threatening toxicities associated with methamphetamine use, along with prevention and treatment strategies
- Formulate a comprehensive approach for screening, treating, and preventing infectious diseases among individuals who use methamphetamine.
- Implement best practices in care coordination and interprofessional collaboration to enhance patient outcomes in methamphetamine-related health issues.
The educational objective for the Addiction Medicine Grand Rounds is to provide health professionals with updates on addiction topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. The Addiction Medicine Lecture series is held monthly on a Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m.
