Amped Up for Stimulant Use Disorder – A Speedy Review of Current Treatment Options through ASAM Practice Guidelines

Learning Objectives:

• Enhance understanding of stimulant use disorder (StUD) and its significant impact on both individual and societal level
• Identify the challenges in managing patients with StUD, and the development of ASAM/AAAP StUD treatment guidelines
• Review of both behavioral and pharmacological treatment options based on the guideline, including the strength of evidence and level of recommendation
• Clarify the concerns with utilizing certain pharmacological treatment options in patients with StUD, such as bupropion with seizure risks

The educational objective of Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care.  Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m.
