The Pregnant Adolescent Patient: Case-Based Review of Considerations for Care

Learning Objectives
  1. Describe the unique social, developmental, and systemic factors that impact the psychiatric evaluation and care of pregnant adolescents, including family involvement, educational planning, and social support considerations. 
  2. Implement evidence-based approaches for screening for perinatal depression and conducting informed consent discussions about psychotropic medication use during pregnancy.
