After earning his BA in psychology from the Claremont Colleges, Gagan worked in population health management for several years before enrolling in a premedical post-baccalaureate program at the University of Southern California to fulfill his medical school prerequisites. He obtained his medical degree from the California University of Science and Medicine. His professional interests include neuromodulation, forensic psychiatry, and child-adolescent psychiatry. His personal interests include history, basketball, digital photography, and digital film-making.
