Sagar is a native Houstonian and proud Longhorn who obtained his bachelor’s degree in molecular biology at The University of Texas at Austin. He went to medical school at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and spent a research year diving deep into tumor genetics as an HHMI Medical Research Fellow in the DePinho Lab at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He completed partial training in Internal Medicine as a categorical resident at University of Nevada, Reno, prior to joining our program.
His clinical interests include consult-liaison psychiatry, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and addressing health disparities experienced by the culturally underserved and LGBTQIA+ populations. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, camping, endurance cycling, cactus gardening, and painting with acrylics.
