Learning Objectives:

  1. Be aware of approaches to prevent mental health conditions in cancer patients.
  2. Define double awareness in the context of palliative care.
  3. Mairead McConnell, PhD  Understand the utility of The Double Awareness Scale in palliative care settings.
  4. Consider opportunities for interdisciplinary partnership, training and mentorship.
  5. Increase attention to medical comorbidities in the treatment of their patients with mental illness.

The educational objective for Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m. Be sure to log into your CME account and complete the evaluation to receive credit.
