Deliberate Practice in Supportive Psychotherapy

Learning Objectives:

  1. Have a better understanding of what supportive psychotherapy is and entails
  2. Introduce some of the research and principles around deliberate practice in psychotherapy training
  3. Present examples of deliberate practice in supportive psychotherapy to reinforce understanding of above learning objectives

The educational objective for Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care. Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m.
