Management of Alcohol Use Disorder in the Setting of Liver Disease

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the challenges present in diagnosing and managing AUD in patients with liver disease and cirrhosis.
  • Review treatment options, both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic, for the safe and effective treatment of AUD in patients with hepatic impairment.
  • Understand the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to managing this population for optimized long term recovery and patient centered outcomes.

The educational objective of Psychiatry Grand Rounds is to provide mental health professionals with updates on psychiatric topics with the goals of increasing knowledge, competence, and patient care.  Psychiatry Grand Rounds are held on Wednesdays (September-May) from 12 to 1 p.m.
