In response to the alarming rise in mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, addiction, and suicide – and the dearth of mental health providers – the Department of Psychiatry presents a fully virtual conference on Saturday, March 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. “Psychiatry for Non-Psychiatrists: The University of Arizona Update in Behavioral Medicine for Primary Care” features a host of renown experts sharing practical and actionable knowledge to help PCPs effectively manage a variety of mental conditions - such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, addiction, and suicide - in primary care settings.
Access to mental health care is a right, not a privilege. We aim to empower PCPs with new clinical skills to enhance access to care, improve comorbid medical conditions, and reduce the stigma of seeking treatment for mental illness.
