What is the Mind-Body Skills Therapy Group?
A powerful, effective combination of research-based mind-body healing interventions to help you deal with life challenges: Chronic stress, grief, divorce, loneliness, separation, and post-traumatic stress.
The Mind and Body Skills Therapy group consists of eight sessions to learn and practice evidence-based skills such as:
- Meditation – Learn to live a content and mindful life.
- Guided Imagery – Use your imagination to help your mind and body heal.
- Biofeedback – Learn to use your body's natural abilities to relax.
- Breath work – Enhance your health by breathing more fully.
- Movement – Become aware of your body's natural responses, release stress and increase energy.
- Drawing – Activate visual mental abilities to gain clarity about the role of family history in your healing process.
Who facilitates this group?
The Mind and Body Skills Therapy Group is facilitated by Gustavo Perez, PhD, licensed psychologist and clinical associate professor at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, Psychiatry. - Greater self-awareness and positive perceptions about their lives.
Who is this group for?
Any adult experiencing stressful life situations who is interested in improving their mind-body, well-being skills. We are an inclusive group and welcome all ages, 18 and over, all genders, and all beliefs. We are committed to ensure all participant feel welcome and respected. We reserve the right to ask a participant to stop attending if they are unable to honor the group’s safe and confidential environment
Can I attend only some of the sessions?
Each group session builds into the next one; for that reason, participation requires attending all eight sessions in person. Sessions will be eight consecutive Mondays from Feb 10 to March 31, from 4 to 6 p.m.
If you are unable to make that commitment at this point in your life, we can save you a space for our Mind and Body Skills Therapy Group in fall 2025.
How many people will be in the group?
10-14
